How is the COVID19 Virus Effecting this Event?

The Downtown West Allis Business Improvement District, the host and organizer of the annual West Allis A La Carte, regrets to announce it is cancelling this year’s A La Carte event, originally scheduled for Sunday, June 7th.

This is the first time in the event’s thirteen year history that it has had to cancel. “We don’t take this decision lightly, but our main priority is the safety and health of our community, patrons, and volunteers,” said Dianne Eineichner, Executive Director of The Downtown West Allis Business Improvement District.

To be fair to all of those involved in the planning process, including our sponsors, vendors, and entertainers, we needed to make this decision sooner rather than later. Due to the uncertainty of when hosting thousands of people in a six block area will again be considered safe, as well as the unpredictable schedules of all involved once we again reach that point, we feel it necessary to cancel the event rather than postpone it. A great deal of thought and discussion has gone into considering alternatives, but they are not feasible at this time.

The coronavirus has impacted virtually every business and industry across the country, and numerous other events have also been cancelled. The health and safety of our employees, volunteers, vendors, sponsors and certainly our attendees are our highest priority to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
West Allis A La Carte will return even bigger and better than ever on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
